Accessibility
Last updated: October 2026
The aim is for this site to meet the AA level of WCAG 2.2, the widely used guidelines for making web content accessible to people with disabilities, including people who are blind, have low vision or cannot use a mouse.
Accessibility features
Some of the work behind this:
- each link and button says plainly what it does;
- colors of text and background were checked for contrast;
- photos come with a text description;
- headings come in a logical order on every page;
- layouts work on phones and at high zoom;
- every form field is labeled, and errors say what to change;
- the keyboard alone reaches every control, and focus is clearly shown;
- all text is real text, so it can be read aloud.
How we check
Checks run in two stages. First, automated accessibility tests go over every page; then each page is checked at a desktop width and a phone width. No change goes live before both are done.
Limits
We have limits too. The text that describes a photo may not mention everything in it. Anything that stops you from using the site is our fault, for us to fix.
